- distilling your decisions

into lovely and lifetime-worthy

architecture.

We deliver designs bespoke to you and your days.

From humble entryway re-imaginings to bold new homes and additions. From cozy ADUs and she-sheds to commercial architecture.

Anchored in the Highland Park neighborhood of St Paul, with a satellite location in Big Fork, Montana and servicing these regions:
1. Twin Cities & Greater Minnesota
2. Western Wisconsin (Polk County, Wisconsin and St. Croix River Valley)
3. Flathead Valley, Montana (Big Fork & Whitefish region)
Our toolkit also includes two decades of professional accreditations in : WELL Standard, Passive House Institute US (Phius), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and CSI (CDT), and 16 years of AIA and NCARB AXP.

Our knowledge in these areas are an ever-present asset to your design decisions and material selections. We pride ourselves in simplifying your decision-making process - making your design & construction journey cozy and fun.
Your lifestyle is wholly unique; so we’ll curate a project experience centered on you. Collaborate in your project as much as you prefer: design with us in-real-time; or pass the torch to us and say, “Go!”. We foster a design-build journey that’s individualized, cozy and fun.
We integrate from planning through architectural development, permitting, construction administration, and home furnishing - with singular design-build contract options. No matter the scale of your project needs, we practice an integrated design process methodology that includes consistent and cost-saving collaborations with engineers, builders, craftspersons & product experts. By collaborating with these partners early and often in schematic design, we strongly reduce the risk of do-overs and redesigns and better inform your cost of construction. The IDP process has proven to save your project costs by up to 35% compared to traditional architecture methods.

Our methods have been refined over 16 years of integrated leadership in custom homes - as well as commercial corporate, workplace, public (library, city hall), and even UX and product design (Marvin).
We apply these distilled design-thinking practices to your design and construction integrations - however modest or bodacious their scale.
Our namesake, takka day, is a bedtime routine: toddler-speak for “talk about our day". Conversational pillow-side reflections on the roses and thorns of their day. Footsteps and toe-stubbings. Where they’ve been, and where they’re going.

Your project begins with ‘takka day’. We listen, ideate and integrate the design around you, for your days.
